Hjørring Orienteringsklub, Vendelboerne

hereby has the pleasure of inviting you to two interesting orienteering events.

Saturday March 13th Kirkemilen near Skagen, and

Sunday March 14th in Aalbaek Klitplantage.

Training courses on Friday March 12th in Tversted Klitplantage.

The events will be useful training for JWOC 2010

 

Classification:

-         C-events, **** with elite courses

  1. NB– it is a question of two separate events, which will be apparent by the entry form. In case you only want to participate in one of the events, please make a note of it under: “Bemærkninger”

 

Showers and changing:

-         Ålbæk Idrætsforening Sports centre on both days.  Signs from road 40 north of Ålbæk (click for map).

Event center

-         There is no event centre, but there will be event office, results boards plus presentation of prizes each day on assembly area.

 

Assembly area

-         Saturday March 13th 2010 in Kirkemilen.  Signs on road 40 south of Skagen (click for map).

-         Sunday March 14th 2010 in Ålbæk Klitplantage.  Signs on road 40 in Ålbæk  village and on road. 597 by Nørre Gårdbovej  (click for map).

Terrains:

-         Kirkemilen – the area is gently undulating and consists of inland dunes with a coniferous plantation of varying density and good paths.  The eastern part consists mainly of open dunes.

-         Ålbæk Klitplantage – the area consists is mainly a coniferous plantation of varying density.  There is a large open area in the western part of the plantation. The whole area is rather level. Notice water courses cutting through the area. Existing crossings should be used.

-         Classes(novice) D-10A, D-10B, D12B, H-10A, H-10B, H-12B, Beg1 and Beg2, have optional start times, which means that start time is arranged with start officials min. 30 min. previous to desired start time. Possible start period from first start of the day and 3 hours on.

 

-         As we expect many participants in classes H/D17-18E and 19-20E  it may become necessary to divide the classes in two to avoid problems in the running of the event. Should such a division become unavoidable, contestants of same nationality will be placed in same classes.

 

Children’s courses: Free, waymarked  courses from 30 min. before first start and 2½ hours on. Look for tent signed “Børnebane” on assembly area.

 

Late entries: Not accepted.  Instead there will the following open courses:

Open courses can be bought on assembly area from 1. start of the day and 2 hours on. Look for sign saying “ Åbne baner”.

 

Punching system:

-         Electronic, using EMIT system.  Rented e-cards are handed out at start and must be handed in at finish on the last day. Competitors with own e-cards are requested to see to it that their e-card can be easily identified as belonging to them.

 

Assembly areas:

 

  1. Saturday in Kirkemilen.  Distance from parking to assembly area is about  300 m. Busses in same place. From assembly area to start about 500 m.  First start at 12.00.
  2. Sunday in Ålbæk Klitplantage.  Distance from parking to assembly area is about 200 m.  Busses in same place. Distance from assembly area to start: about 500 m.

First start at 0830.

  1. Norwegian and Swedish participants who have a ferry to catch on Sunday are kindly asked to state on the entry form from which harbour and at what time their ferry leaves and an early start can be arranged on Sunday if necessary.

Children’s activities:

-         Both days on assembly area.  Book on entry form, stating number and age.

Entry:

-         In clubs. No later than February 26th.

Danish clubs: O-service.

Foreign clubs: On- line entry (On-lineTilmelding.)

A club can create one, and only one, registration account. Access to the account is obtained by entering a username(Name of Club/Team) and password. Untill the registration deadline, the club representative can:

  • Enter new runners to one or both of the two races,
  • Enter EMIT card "Brikke" numbers ,
  • Change names and classes of the runners,
  • Delete runners.

The club representative can continuously see and download/print an overview of the club’s registrations.

Start fee for each runner and a total fee for the Club will be calculated.

To minimize problems with electronic communication runners will be entered in same class on both days. It is, however, still possible to participate in one event only.

Fees: Must be paid on entry.

  1. H/D-20 - per day: DKK. 75.00  (open courses: DKK. 90.00).
  2. H/D21- per day: DKK. 100.00 (open courses: DKK. 120.00).
  3. e-card rental: DKK 15.00
